Oasis in the desert: Sign the world's largest solar power station


According to CNN reports, Morocco to build a world's largest concentrated on and off grid solar power system plant, the power plant is located in the Moroccan desert town --- Ouarzazate , this town is famous for taking over several Hollywood movies (including "Lawrence of Arabia" "Gladiator", etc.), by 2018, the power plant will provide the energy needed annually to more than one million households - according to the "climate investment funds" (climate investment Funds) data estimation, which is equivalent to an annual reducing 760,000 tons of carbon gas emissions.


On February 4, 2016, with Moroccan King Mohammed VI pressed the button, the first part of the third phase of the project officially put into use.



This called Noor complex solar energy projects, the use concentrated solar panels are much expensive than the widely used photovoltaic panels, but unlike the latter, whether in the night or cloudy days, the panels also can store energy.


It working principle like this: mirrors to focus the sun's rays polymerization, reflection to rotation and mixed water special liquid, the liquid temperature up to 400 degrees, emerging from the process of steam will drive a turbine to generate electricity.



According to the world bank, during the day, full of the melting salt of the cylinder by the mirror polymerization temperature; and to the night, the temperature of the cylinder stored can continue to offer three hours of electricity. Prior to this, 97 % of Morocco's energy all depend on oil imports, so this country eager to diversify energy sources and begin to use renewable energy. Morocco will host the United Nations Climate Change Conference in November 2016, this goal is to be one of the reasons the Moroccan organizers.

 "Africa, especially southern Africa, in the development of solar energy has great potential. Morocco in the region's leading investment may provide a template for other countries, other countries in the development of energy industry may also seek a sustainable way".


 According to CIF data, in addition to reducing carbon emissions and the degree of dependence on oil imports, the project will also be in the total power generation in Morocco, the proportion of renewable energy will promote from 13% to 42%.


 Similarly, this project can improve the living standards of the surrounding area, recent Ouarzazate distance power station 10km, resident population reached 58 million, and poverty rate is as high as 23%. This solar power station will at least thoroughly solve the illumination problem for residents living , and hospital equipment sometimes because of lack of electricity and the short circuit problem.



Morocco, The World's Largest Solar Power Station Put Into Used

According to local media reports, the global planning installed machine capacity of the largest solar power station, Morocco Ouarzazate Noor solar power station the first phase of the project on the 4th in Ouarzazate officially put into use, the second and the third phase of the project on the same day to be started construct. The station, the first phase of the project is located in the southeastern desert, covers an area of 480 hectares, investment of about 7 billion euros, installed capacity of 160 MW. According to the plan, the second and the third phase of the project respectively covers an area of 680 hectares and 750 hectares, is expected to invest 8.1 billion euros and 6.45 billion euros, the installed capacity of 200 MW and 150 MW.




The fourth phase project to be installed which capacity are 70 MW will be completed and put into operation, the total installed capacity of Nur Val Zaza Te solar power station will reach 580 megawatts, will become the world's largest installed capacity of solar power generator system station.

Ali Fassi Fihri, Morocco, president of the national electricity and water companies said at the same day, from 2016 to 2030, the friction will invest about 280 million euros in the development of solar, wind and hydropower projects, these new renewable energy projects installed total capacity for 10 000 MW.

Moroccan is lack of traditional energy, 2009 formulated renewable energy development strategy, to encourage private capital investment in the construction of wind and solar power system generation station at home and abroad, plans to 2020 will be renewable energy accounted for the energy consumption of the proportion of the total up to 42%, in 2030 reached 52%.

On Aug 29.2015, located in Vietnam's Quang Ngai province a 19.2 megawatt solar power system station to be started building. This is Vietnam's first solar power plant ,which is expected to put into operation to generate electricity in July next year.

The solar power system plant costs approximately $ 36,120,000, will be an annual output of about 28000000 kwh of clean electricity to the main power grid. Solar power plants will be imported from Thailand's solar panels.

Earth encyclopedia noted that nearly a quarter of Vietnam's energy consumption comes from oil, and the remaining 10% is supplied by hydropower, coal accounted for 20%, natural gas accounted for 11%.

So far, Vietnam's solar energy development is relatively slow. The encyclopedia said, by the end of 2014, Vietnam installed capacity of up to 3600 kilowatts, of which are about 15000pcs small PV off grid solar system applications.
